Sewline Upholstery 2025 Recap

As 2025 comes to an end, we’re excited to share a look back at some of our favourite upholstery projects — and offer a creative sneak peek at what’s inspiring us for 2026. This year brought a wide variety of commercial, residential, and custom upholstery work through our shop, and we’re grateful for everyone who trusted us with their furniture, seating, and design needs.

If you’re interested in commercial upholstery, furniture restoration, custom banquette seating, or upcoming upholstery and fabric trends for 2026, this recap is for you.

2025 Overview: A Year of Growth, Craftsmanship & Creative Upholstery

At Sewline Upholstery, we focus on combining quality craftsmanship with reliable service — and 2025 was one of our most diverse and rewarding years yet. Here are the project categories that defined our work:

1. Commercial & Restaurant Upholstery Projects

This year, we completed a wide range of commercial seating and restaurant upholstery projects, including booth rebuilds, banquette upgrades, and high-traffic seating solutions. Commercial clients rely on us for durable, long-lasting materials and clean, professional workmanship — and we’re proud of the results we delivered.

2. Interior Furniture Restoration & Re-Upholstery

Furniture restoration continued to be a major part of our workflow in 2025. We restored chairs, sofas, ottomans, and heirloom pieces — modernizing some while preserving the character of others. These projects highlight the beauty of extending a piece’s life through expert re-upholstery and foam replacement.

3. Built-In Seating: Kitchen Nooks, Banquettes & Window Benches

Custom built-in seating was one of our fastest-growing project areas. We created kitchen nooks, banquettes, and window benches designed to fit unique layouts and interior styles. These projects let us combine carpentry support, comfort-focused foam selection, and beautiful fabric choices.

4. Outdoor & Recreational Vehicle Upholstery

We completed a variety of boat upholstery, ATV and quad seats, tractor seating, and other outdoor cushions. This type of work requires high-performance materials and specialized techniques to ensure durability in outdoor and recreational environments.

Behind the Scenes: Improving Our Project Management in 2025

In addition to hands-on upholstery work, we spent part of 2025 improving our internal systems. We began digitizing our project management and CRM processes to help streamline:

  • estimates and quoting

  • project tracking

  • communication with clients and vendors

  • approvals and updates

This transition is already helping us work more efficiently — and will support even smoother workflows in 2026.

A Fun New Way to Preview Fabrics in 2026

Playing With AI

We’ll admit it — we’ve been having a LOT of fun this year experimenting with AI fabric previews. Think of it like a digital dress-up game for furniture. Before we ever touch a staple gun, we can now pop a chair or bench into a little AI magic machine and let it show you what different fabrics, colours, or styles might look like.

Want to see your kitchen nook in a bold pattern?

Curious how a western-inspired tapestry will look on your favourite chair?

Wondering if navy velvet is too dramatic or just dramatic enough?

We can now whip up a quick mock-up and give you a sneak peek — no guesswork, no “I hope this pattern looks right” and no squinting at fabric samples trying to imagine the final piece.

Why We’re Loving This New Tool

  • You can see it before we sew it

  • Fabric selection becomes more fun and less stressful

  • It encourages creative, bolder design choices

  • And honestly? It’s just plain fun

AI won’t ever replace craftsmanship (don’t worry — it still can’t sew a straight line), but it does give us a playful, imaginative way to explore ideas together. In 2026, expect to see even more AI-assisted previews to help bring your upholstery ideas to life.

A Creative Look at 2026

Custom Designs & Emerging Trends

As we plan for the new year, we’re embracing creativity and personalization more than ever. One of the projects inspiring us right now is a western-inspired custom chair design featuring unique stitching, textured materials, and bold detailing. This project has sparked a renewed passion for custom, character-filled pieces — something we’ll be exploring much more in 2026.

Upholstery & Fabric Trends to Watch in 2026

Here are a few upholstery and interior design trends we’re seeing for the upcoming year:

  • Artisanal and narrative prints with subtle use

  • Performance fabrics that combine durability with comfort and style

  • Warm, expressive colour palettes balanced with earthy neutrals, jewel tones and serence blues and greens

  • Mixed materials & textured finishes for added depth

  • Soft curves and cozy silhouettes focusing on comfort and warmth

These trends align beautifully with the direction of our 2026 creative work.

Looking Ahead with Gratitude

Thank you to everyone who supported and collaborated with us throughout 2025. Whether you brought us a commercial project, a beloved piece of furniture, or a creative custom idea, we truly appreciate the trust you place in Sewline Upholstery.

Here’s to a creative, inspiring, and beautifully upholstered 2026.

Warmest wishes,
Jenelle & The Sewline Upholstery Team
